Rescue Diver course package:
Duration:
Academic time: 16 hours total in the lecture room
Practical time: 10 hours for Rescue Diver and +/- 4 hours DAN practicals
Course Prerequisites:
- Training and experience equivalent to NAUI Scuba Diver
- Current certification in both CPR and basic First Aid is required
- If you do not the above certification, a NAUI Basic First Aid & CPR for Scuba Divers course is offered
Aim of the course:
The NAUI Rescue course trains divers in the knowledge and skills needed to manage risks and effectively handle limited in-water problems and diving emergencies. Included are: assists, transport, surface rescues from depth involving both boat and shore based skin and scuba divers.
At Alpha Dive Centre, we provide a comprehensive rescue qualification and thus include the following DAN courses in our Rescue certification:
- Oxygen Provider course
- Advanced Oxygen Provider course
- First Aid Provider for Hazarous Marine Life
- Automated External Defibrillator Provider course
- Dive Emergency Management Provider Course (Includes all the above)

Water sessions:
Approximately one 4 hour confined water session.
At least one session is to be conducted in open water. An open water session involves one or more skin or scuba rescue exercises.
Qualification of graduates:
- Graduates are considered competent to perform assists and rescues in open water provided the diving site and diving situations approximate those of the training.
Rescue package deal:
R3 300 plus R200 NAUI registration
Your Rescue package includes the NAUI Rescue Diver, NAUI First Aid and the 4 DAN
courses making up the Dive Emergency Management Provider
