Crosses Named after the crosses erected as memorial to the fishermen drowned in this area. A breathtakingly beautiful dive along a wall-like reef running parallel to the shore. The diver cannot be blamed for "wondering off" as a little way offshore is an underwater mountain range of large and small reef covered in massive orange sea fans and sponges and offering refuge to the greatest number and variety of fish along the Rooi Els coastline. Location: 26.8 km from Alpha Dive Centre along the Rooi Els road. Accessibility: Follow one of the fisherman paths that lead to the right, starting at the large concrete cross. Access the water from a flat rock in a shallow gulley. Swim to the gap in the rocks that opens to the sea and descend here. it is recommended that divers be fit and healthy for this dive site. Depth: 16 - 18 m. Qualification: As long as you can dive, you can dive here. |
